The education campaign steering committee was convened by the Center’s party committee for a democratic life meeting on November 12. Secretary of the Center’s party committee Liu Yadong presided over the meeting. Attendees of the meeting included Deputy Director Ni Rong of Shanghai Municipal Urban and Rural Construction and Transportation Commission and the municipal construction and transportation system’s first supervising team head Wang Laidi. The Center’s party and administrative management joined the meeting.

As required by the meeting, party secretary Liu Yadong, on behalf of the Center’s party and administrative management, briefed on the preparations for the meeting and the management’s self checkup and compliance with the party’s political discipline and the “eight rules”, addressed and identified outstanding problems and their whereabouts in regard to the “four undesirable working styles”, made thorough analysis of the root causes of the conundrums from various perspectives such as perceptions on political achievement, power and world outlook as well as ambitions and beliefs, objectives and consciousness, party spirit and qualifications, and put forward approaches and measures on remedial actions and system establishment. Later, the management committee members made self analysis and reviews accordingly one by one and put forward concrete corrective measures in close combination with personal ideas and actual work, job responsibilities and growth experience. Meanwhile, positive, friendly and down-to-earth mutual criticisms were arranged amongst the management committee members, opening hearts and minds for suggestions as well as voicing merits and demerits in good faith. The meeting was conducted in a serious yet harmonious manner.

The municipal construction and transportation system’s first supervising team head Wang Laidi said in her comments about the meeting that the democratic life meeting of the PF Center’s steering committee was a great success, and has fulfilled the anticipated objectives in regard to its keen focus on pragmatic service-oriented approach to promotion of a pure and upright working style which underscored Marxist mass viewpoint education, key party and administrative leaders’ initiatives in exercising a pioneering and exemplary role, the attendees’ boldness in revealing faults and daring to overcome tough obstacles in face of criticisms and self-criticisms, and broadened consensus for concerted endeavors towards common goals. Wang Laidi also offered advice on rectification. The first is to lay emphasis on key issues and enhance management of special projects. The second is to keep an eye on long-term objectives and step up efforts to establish systems. The third is to take an open-door approach to embrace the oversight of the mass and regard the mass’ satisfaction as the ultimate goal of the education campaign.

Deputy Director Ni Rong of Shanghai Municipal Urban and Rural Construction and Transportation Commission stated in her speech that the democratic life meeting of the PF Center’s steering committee was of high quality, ascribed to good preparations of the management committee ahead of the meeting, substantial open-hearted and open-minded communications, pertinent identification of existing problems in wake of contemplations and reviews, positive and sincere criticisms aiming at mutual understanding and solidarity enhancement. What needs to be done next is to earnestly carry out corrective actions. Firstly, we need to lay strong emphasis on the identified conundrums and tackle them dialectically. Secondly, we should clarify and prioritize the rectification items. Thirdly, we must strengthen combination for long-term conformance. As for HPF management, Ni Rong put forward the following three requirements. The first is to earnestly endeavor to conduct management team building, practically improve working style and lead all cadres and staff to press ahead development of HPF cause. The second is to integrate learning and education into working practices, earnestly organize the “looking back” to ensure fruitful results and practical benefits to the mass. The third is to innovate boldly in an effort to take the lead nationwide in various work of provident fund.
